Naomi's 6 Month Check-Up

Naomi enjoyed her 6 month check-up because there was something new to play with - paper!  Gone are the days of Naomi lying still on the table while the doc takes her measurements (today's: 16lb 7oz, 27 1/4" long) - Naomi is on the move!

Mmm, fiber
 Look what I did!
My work here is done - we can go home now

Base Camp

Naomi is in her third week at Base Camp and she's doing great!  I keep hearing rumors that she has a romance (talking to each other, holding hands) with one of the other babies, Fischer.  Here's a snap of the two of them playing together:

I stopped by for a quick visit with Naomi yesterday and was thrilled to find her in a very happy mood!

The teachers at base camp have been exploring different foods with the babies over the past few weeks.  Yesterday, they played with watermelon.  Naomi looked like such a big girl sitting in her high chair snacking on watermelon!

Naomi's New Toy

A friend gave us her old excersaucer and we took it out for Naomi to play with for the first time today:

A few new pictures

Hanging out on the changing table:

Going for a walk:

Mmm.. Bananas!

Trying out my chew-safe necklace:

Naomi's teachers asked me to send some family pictures so they could make a collage of Naomi's family - so cute!  Jason and Jenee: They somehow left off the picture I sent of you two but will be adding it soon (in case you were wondering how Wenley made it but you didn't!).

A big day for Naomi

First, Naomi tried some sweet potato:

Then, we took Naomi on her first hike:

She had a lot to say about it!

And after we got home, she practiced some new moves!

Naomi's first word

Naomi has been practicing her first word over and over again.  Here's a quick video clip - it's definitely not her best attempt but you'll get the idea!

One of My Favorite Activities

Mmmm, Avocado!

Naomi loves her 2nd food - avocado!  She gobbles it up and then cries for more.  Today she downed 2 tablespoons worth.  Here's a photo of her preparing for her meal in full body bib:

And one of the avocado party in action:

A Letter From Naomi

My First Week in Mt. Hood
Dear Mom and Dad,
I had a great first week in Mt. Hood!  My new teachers and friends were all so friendly to me!
There were also so many new toys to play with!  I wanted to try everything out!
I also showed off my rolling over skills!  My teachers were pretty proud of me!
Here is a picture of mommy and me in my new classroom!  My teachers have welcomed us warmly and I think I will continue to enjoy it here!

Love,
Naomi
