What the?!

You're not supposed to wake ME up, says Naomi (at the airport on her way to Michigan for Christmas after a 4am wake up call).

Naomi's First Thanksgiving

If she could talk, here are a few things Naomi would say she is thankful for on her first Thanksgiving:

Books!

Play dates in the park with Wenley

My silly daddy

Dancing in my pajamas with mama

And, of course, her wonderful family who loves her up.  Happy Thanksgiving from Naomi!

Fun at Base Camp

Now that Naomi is a little older, she's starting to really enjoy being at Base Camp.  And who can blame her - there are so many toys to play with and I certainly can't compete with seven other babies for entertainment!  While I still don't like leaving her, it's a lot easier when I know she's having a baby blast.

Here are a few videos I took this week to give you an idea of what Naomi gets up to when she's at "Boot Camp".  As Aunt Jenee would say, she's a wild woman in training!

Base Camp Halloween Parade

I have to admit tht I'm a litle bit of a Halloween grinch.  I don't really see the point in spending money on something you'll wear once.  I decided I'd buy Naomi a Halloweenish outfit (picture onsie with a cat or witch on the front) that she would be comfortable in and wear again.  While the outfit was super cute, as it got closer to Hallween I started to feel a little guilty that she didn't have a 'real' costume (and Halloween is actually a big deal at Clif Bar so the pressure from my co-workers didn't help).

So, at the last minute I decided to buy Naomi something that would still be comfortable yet qualify as a legitimate costume.   I present you with...Minnie Mouse!

Then, I realized that we had an adorable MI cheerleader outfit I still might be able to fit her into.  Here comes the Pip Squad:

So somehow my costume-less baby ended up with a week's worth of cute Halloween outfits and a wardrobe change for the Base Camp halloween parade.  Needless to say, she was a big hit!

Here's a photo of Naomi in the company of 3 monkeys and a wolf - no wonder she looks stunned!

Baby Pull-Ups

Naomi is getting really good at pulling herself up to standing...and she has a bruise on her forehead to prove it!  She had her first fall at Base Camp and hit her head on a wooden toy chest - ouch!

Here's another video with a little crawling action:

Stronger and Stronger

It seems like Naomi has new moves just about every day lately.  She is crawling like a champ (I'll try to post a video of that soon) and today, she started pulling herself up to standing!  Here's a short clip:

And here are a few recent random photos showing how fun life is when you're 8 months old:

Family Vacation - Part II

After visiting family in Michigan, we headed to Minneapolis where Naomi got to meet and spend time with more very special people:

Naomi loved hanging out with her Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins...

...who treated her to the most rousing version of Little Bunny Foo Foo a baby had ever heard!

We also got lots of fun time with Savta and Papa...

...who hosted a dinner at their place one night so we could catch up with the rest of the family:

Unfortunately for Naomi, her digestive system isn't quite mature enough to handle the State Fair so she stayed home with Savta while I learned how the Kaplans roll:

Eat everything that looks remotely good and travel in a pack to be sure you don't miss anything

Don't stop until you think you might throw up, at which point there's nothing left to do but..

...Ride the slide!

Finally, here are a few more photos courtesy of the family photographer (thanks, David!):

Can't wait to see you all again soon!

New Concepts

Naomi is learning that the world contains more than meets the eye!
